Among those who impressed: sophomores Deonte Burton (Cabrillo; he's better every time I see him), Kyle Boswell (Edison; he was one of the two best jump shooters in the gym Sunday) and Clint Bozner (Villa Park); juniors Jordan Hamilton (Dominguez; he was the other phenomenal jump shooter on hand Sunday). West coast man-mountain 6-foot-10 Jeremy Tyler checks in at No. 3. He has the tools to dominate at times around the hoop, can finish with either hand or pop out and knock down the jumper facing the hoop. The only reason he isn't the top dog here is consistency, something he lacked at times in July. CSTV 9/12

Daniel Orton, a 6-9, 275-pound junior from McGuinness High in Oklahoma City, tells Rivals.com he’ll probably visit KU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and some Texas schools unofficially this school year. UConn, UCLA, Arizona, Florida, Illinois and Ohio State are also on his early list. Lawrence Journal World 9/12

In KU basketball recruiting, one Texan is still in and another is out. J'Mison Morgan, a 6-10 center from Darrell Arthur's Dallas South Oak Cliff High, will visit KU this weekend. Bill Self visited his home earlier this week. Witchita Eagle 9/13

Dallas center J’Mison Morgan’s visit to LSU last weekend made a big impression, according to his AAU coach, Greg “Jazzy” Hartwell. Morgan (6-10, 275), nicknamed “Bobo,” attended the LSU-Virginia Tech game and met former Tigers stars Shaquille O’Neal and Tyrus Thomas. 2TheAdvocate 9/13

J’Mison Morgan, a 6-foot-10, 270-pound shot-blocking and rebounding machine out of Dallas South Oak Cliff High, makes his official recruiting visit to KU this afternoon through Sunday morning. He’ll be easy to spot at Saturday night’s KU-Toledo football game, sitting next to his former high school and Urban DFW AAU teammate — 6-foot-9 KU sophomore Darrell Arthur. “He is a giant among men — well, boys,” writes Aggrey Sam of SLAM Magazine. “He has great hands, improving post moves and footwork, nice passing ability. He finishes, blocks shots and rebounds with a lot of power.” KU Sports 9/15
