Complementing Drew Gordon and Jrue Holiday in that class are Malcolm Lee, a 6-foot-4 combo guard from J.W. North in Riverside, Calif. and point guard Jerime Anderson (6-2)
from Canyon High in Anaheim, Calif. All three guards teamed up at the
USA Basketball Youth Team Festival in Colorado Springs, Colo. in June.
"With guards like them and another bruiser underneath in Drew, that's
dangerous," says Kevin Love, who was the counselor for Holiday and Anderson's
team at the Adidas Nation event in New Orleans last month. "I'd love to

Elite 24: Drew Gordon, 6-9 power forward, Archbishop Mitty (CA), 2008, committed to UCLA: This was my first time seeing Gordon play in person, so I won’t jump to any conclusions about the powerful athlete just yet. I will say he got the crowd pretty hype in the layup line.

Elite 24: Jrue Holiday, 6-4 combo guard, Campbell Hall (CA), 2008, committed to UCLA: A strong guard with great fundamentals, the mentality of a defensive stopper and a tendency to be almost too unselfish, Holiday is probably better off in more of a team setting. That said, he was pretty good in this contest, took the challenge of guarding both Evans and Jennings on D (his rip of BJ and subsequent double-pump reverse bang was a highlight) and was an effective scorer. Recruits

After leaving Mississippi for Southern California over a year ago,
Renardo Sidney, the nation's top prospect in the Class of 2009 by
StudentSportsBasketball.com and Rivals.com, is on the move again. This
time it's from the Suburban League closer to the bright lights of
Hollywood on Melrose Avenue and Fairfax High School, the defending
California Div. I state champions. CaliHiSports 8/28

Fairfax Coach Harvey Kitani said he would wait to see whether Renardo Sidney
arrived next week and showed that he was living within the Fairfax
attendance boundary. "When he gets processed and checks in, then I'll know he's coming to
Fairfax," Kitani said. "I've seen him play a few times, and he's a
special player. He's big, strong, has inside-outside ability." Los Angeles Times 8/28

Intrigue surrounds Renardo Sidney because he's a big man with stunning,
guard-like skills; he's susceptible to lapses in effort but also more
versatile than the NBA player to whom some recruitniks have him
compared, Chris Webber. Of Sidney's potential, Vaccaro says,
"Should he be the No. 1 pick [in 2010]? Physically it would be without
question. The key is what happens, mentally and with everything else

J’Mison Morgan, a 6-10 senior center from South Oak Cliff High in
Dallas, tells Rivals.com KU will be awarded an in-home visit on Sept.

In 2010, forward Jeremy Tyler presently has a stranglehold on No. 1. He is an amazing talent, much in the mold of our 2007 No. 1 player Michael Beasley. We haven't seen a whole lot of this class yet, but I have a feeling that we won't find a prospect better than Tyler. Rivals 8/30
