Kansas has already signed guard Royce Woolridge of Phoenix, leaving one more scholarship to give. Self has said he might not use it. But Kansas appears to still be in the running for Terrence Jones, a 6-8 power forward from Portland who is rated No. 13 in the country by Rivals.com. Jones and Selby have said they might want to play together. USA Today 4/19

Oregon prospect Terrence Jones ranks as the nation's top unsigned recruit. Jones plans to announce either April 23 or 30. (He will do so in tandem with Terrence Ross.) He currently lists his finalists as Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Kentucky and Kansas. The belief is that Jones will stay on the West Coast. He says he still is going through the decision process. "I'm not planning on making a decision or even getting down or writing the pros and cons until all my high school games are over." Jones has kept Oregon and Oklahoma on his list, despite some uncertainty at both programs. "It's tough to make a decision like this when a school [Oregon] doesn't have a coach. So I just try to do what I can." ESPN 4/20

Deonte Burton of Compton, Calif., has signed a national letter of intent to study and play basketball at the University of Nevada beginning in 2010-11, Wolf Pack head coach David Carter announced Wednesday.  A 6-1, 185-pound guard, Burton comes to Nevada from Compton Centennial High School. He won the John R. Wooden High School Player of the Year Award this season after averaging 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists. Burton was also named the CIF Southern California Division III player of the year and scored more than 2,000 points during his high school career. KTVN Reno 4/21

While nothing has been said recently about the remaining 2010 prospects Alabama is looking at, there was good news for Tide fans when 2011 big man Angelo Chol trimmed his list to five schools, and Alabama was among them. According to JayhawkSlant.com, Chol eliminated UCLA and Florida from his list, which leaves Alabama, Connecticut, Georgetown, Kansas and Washington. The 6′8, 205-pound center is considered one of the elite centers in the entire class, averaging 16 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks per game last season as a junior. Tide Sports 4/21

Jefferson basketball star Terrence Jones will make a recruiting visit to Kansas University on Sunday, Jones’ mother, Linda Mashia-Jones, confirmed Friday.  Rivals.com first reported Jones’ plan to visit Kansas. Jones, The Oregonian Class 5A player of the year in 2009 and 2010, plans to announce his college decision Friday, April 30, during a press conference at the North Portland school, Linda Mashia-Jones said Thursday.  Jones, a 6-9 forward and rated by ESPNU as the country's No. 9 recruit for the class of 2010, has long had Washington, Oregon, UCLA, Kentucky and Oklahoma as his final five choices. Jones added Kansas to his finalists Saturday while in New York for the Jordan Brand Classic. After the game, Jones told reporters he was planning to take his fifth and final official visit to Kansas. The Wildcats can expect to see a lot of pressing by the Ducks next season with Dana Altman as coach. But then, he may not find it easy to get enough players to do it. But Altman has already landed a recruiting visit from Dwayne Polee. It will be interesting to see if he can get Terrence Jones to take his phone calls. Arizona Daily Star 4/25
