Center J'mison Morgan Transfers From UCLA

By Bruin Basketball Report

Sophomore center J'mison Morgan will not return to UCLA next season.  The 6'10 post player will be transferring to another school to play basketball.

Morgan will leave UCLA immediately and hasn't made a decision as to where he will transfer.

His departure wasn't completely unexpected.

After averaging just 2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in 40 contests over his short time in Westwood, Morgan was unable to break into the UCLA line-up last season despite the loss of big men James Keefe to injury and Drew Gordon to transfer.

Morgan becomes the third member of the much heralded 2008 recruiting class to leave UCLA early.

Jrue Holiday jumped to the NBA in June and Gordon transferred to New Mexico last December.  Only guards Malcolm Lee and Jerime Anderson remain from the class.

"I feel that it is in the best interest of this program and for J’mison Morgan that he no longer be a part of this team," Bruin Coach Ben Howland said. "We are supportive of him and his future in whatever direction he decides to go.”

what a dick. Bobo, unlike Morgan or Jrue, to my knowledge never said or did anything to disparage the program or coaching staff. Your comment is more trojan than bruin-like.

Yo George, bite me. Obviously, you have no Bruin knowledge...it's Bobo Morgan. In my f-n opinion, Bobo disparage the UCLA program by his lack of effort. Don't fake the funk GEORGE! You are not a nice guy...don't fake it to your girlfriend and your family...you are a LOSER. You are not a Bruin! And I am awesome!

Bobo had no "O" or "D"...
most overrated player out of high school...
Maybe Coach Daniels recruited him...
take care fellas...
kick off Anderson, sign Ray M and 2 BIGS....
Pressure is on Howland to make more drastic changes...at this point USC will blast us as we have no inside game

Agreed! Bobo looked to be completely out of sync when he was on the floor. To me, I not really second guess the rating systems as I looked back on my research to see he was rated a ***** (five) star player. He was a three at best.
The positive way I look at it is that we now have an extra scholarship to dig a little deeper for an extra BIG that has an aggressive nature. Bobo did not have that in him...

BruinFan you always amaze me with how negative you are. It really is pretty ridiculous. Stop hating on Howland and be a little less fairweather. On another note pumped Morgan is gone and now we can free up another scholarship. We need Jones!!!

I have said before, I feel coach is doing a great job. Face it, final fours with many average players whome he helped made better for the NBA. Other programs roll with tons of all americans and still find less success. Give coach a break, sure he made some mistakes but who hasnt? Way I see it, he did well with what he got.
Would be nice to see a more focus on offense to get more player makers to come though.

Remember, Bobo was recruited by UCLA. Don't jump on Bobo. He is doing the right thing by leaving. Jump on the person who recruited him. That person needs to be brought to task.
