Center Morgan Out 2-3 Weeks With Injury

Sophomore reserve center J'mison Morgan sustained a partially torn (second degree strain) quadriceps in his right leg yesterday in practice.
He is slated to be out for 2-3 weeks and will miss the entire Bruins three-game homestand which begins this Saturday with USC.
Tip-off is slated for 4:37 PM in Pauley Pavilion.

I feel for the kid...I guess he is well-liked, has a sweet tat on his calves, works hard, has no hands, has no game, is a Soph who avgerages 2.0 points a game...Howland wake up man...Dump Bobo, Stover, and Jerime A. for 3 more roster spots...We need diaper dandies not soft candies with no gm...none of thsi Division 5 So Cal crap equivalent...

P.S. Bobo threw up after running at the last practice...our training staff needs to be replaced (see footnotes from years past)....do these kids stretch???

Can't these kids read the writing on the wall? Why waste you playing career on a team where you don't fit and won't play much. Stanback is a perfect example. He was smart enough to leave and is now having a productive career at UNLV. I feel sorry for James Keefe. He could have had a productive playing career somewhere else. He gave up his redshirt season last year for what? 10 minutes a game his senior year? Too bad.
I don't know. I still think James Keefe had a productive career. He was apart of atleast 2 final fours and sometimes that is the experience a kid wants. I don't think Keefe would ever have been good enough to make the NBA out of college even if he transfered to Northwestern or Cornell or some smaller program. My feeling is he got to play for the greatest basketball school in the country and be apart of an incredible academic tradition. In no way does that allevate the frustration that he isn't very talented and is taking a scholarship spot, but still believe Keefe will be happy with his decision to graduated from Ucla and play 4 years. Am thinking ALL good thoughts for Saturday's game and we will be rocking a few bars with the bruin love. Love this site and as I hope everyone knows even though this is a great place to vent your frustrations that the Bruins aren't top 5 like they should be we are still all on the same team. Love the bruins and hope anderson shows up for the SC game.
So, let's see, J'mison Morgan was averaging 2 points in limited minutes prior to this injury, will miss a few weeks, and then will return buried even further down the depth chart.
His prospects of seeing playing time next year are reduced even further with the arrival of Josh Smith.
He may be a good kid, but he is never going to play, and he would be better off somewhere else. He could probably transfer before classes start and use the remainder of this wasted season as half of his transfer year and be eligible mid-season next year somewhere else.
Sorry, but if you really look at the realities of UCLA Basketball, Ben Howland is not the man for the job. Yes, he made the NCAA Final 4 3 years in a row, but only by LUCK!!! He was either seeded #1 or #2 in the playoffs and even then, each time it was other schools mistakes that causes the Bruins to make the final 4. However, once they arrived in the final 4 each time they were completely out played and did not have enough athletisism to keep up with Florida (Twice) and Memphis (Once). Look at each one of thos final 4 games and UCLA was the worst team of all 4 and then getting their took lots of luck. Ben Howland may be a good recruiter, but the problem is the scouting. He scouts players that are decent and good, but never any player that will be outstanding and can take the team to the next level. Furthermore, Ben Howland's offense will not make it. He is more concerned about a half court game and completely stays away from a running game that sometimes would be much more effective. I am tired of seeing UCLA being less athletic than other teams and they will never win an NCAA tournament unless they can play both a half court game and a running game. They need better athletes. Ben Howland will never win an NCAA Tournament. Ben messed up in his recruiting the last couple of years and they are where they are because he dropped the ball. NOT ACCEPTABLE THAT A TEAM THAT MADE THE FINAL 4 3 YEARS IN A ROW IS NOW THE WORST TEAM IN THE PAC 10 AND MAYBE THE WORST TEAM IN THE WEST. Next year will be the same beacause he does not have enough recruits to change the current status. I have been a UCLA fan for 35 years and it saddens me to see such a great school have such a horrible basketball program for the next few years.
LETS LOOK AT THE REALITIES. UCLA WILL NOT WIN AN NCAA TITLE WITH BEN HOWLAND AND HIS METHOD OF PLAY. BOTTOM LINE. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.

Exactly my point...Saddens me that our basketball program is in shambles...
We might score 40 points a game next year. Our record will be worse unless he tells a few kids to transfer AND get some big studs.

Bruins will be just fine. Only a hiccup. With the talent coming on board next year and with the current players, return to glory is right around the corner. Let's not act like spoiled,
unrealistic Southern Cal, snot nosers. It makes you look bad.
