Reeves Nelson Has Corneal Abrasion

By Bruin Basketball Report

UCLA freshman forward Reeves Nelson, who was poked in the eye in the second half of the Bruins' 73-61 loss to No. 1 Kansas on Sunday afternoon, was taken immediately after the game to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Reeves has a corneal abrasion and some swelling in his right eye. He will miss three to four days and will be revaluated after the swelling goes down.

UCLA's medical staff is optimistic he will be available to play when the Bruins face Mississippi State in the John R. Wooden Classic on Dec. 12 at Honda Center.

Nelson had to leave late in the game on Sunday with his eye injury.  He scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds against Kansas.

This guy is a stud! I am really pleased with his Charles Barkley workman-like effort. Good recruit. Let's get some point guards Coach and get rid of Bobo as he has butter fingers.

Glad he's okay. A toughness injury - in the sense that it shows his toughness and that it makes him tougher down the road of his Bruin career.

Was really impressed with Reeves yesterday. I was at the game and the Bruins had all the momentum after that dunk by Reeves in which he was poked. I think that if he had no been injured the Bruins could have won the game.
Hopefully he is back for Miss St., because James Keefe is terrible and I never want to see Keefe on the floor again unless the Bruins are up by 20.

If we showed that effort against some of these "lesser" schools we might have a .500 record right now. Nelson's work ethic is exactly what the Bruins need. Honeycutt was rusty but he looks like a do-er too.
I think I am ready to demote Anderson below Blake Arnet. I personally wathced Anderson and he made at least 12 turnovers himself (some don't show on the stats)! We really needy to sign Ray McCallum for next year.
And I can't figure out Bobo, but he sure ain't no KLove like some people we penny-in-a-pond wishing! We are bringing in Josh Smith but I think we should try to land Jeremy Tyler too. have them be the bruise brothers inside!

Fellas, I can't watch this game against Miss St. It pains me.
3 of our players need to transer after this year. Bobo (no hands) &
Anderson (Div III player)& Stover (he played Div 5 in High School which is CIF small schools... and he played crappy teams/talent)
3 leave Drag(absolutely no D and no consistent shot), Keefe (thank goodness, H.S. All American lol), Roll (learn to create off the dribble!!)
Desperate times call for desperate measures....6 spots open, 2 signed...
Give me more 2 more guards and 2 more bigs....
That's all I want for X-mas!!
Die Hard...
