Cedric Bozeman At Hawks Rookie Camp

Atlanta's NBA draft selections Shelden Williams and Solomon Jones are getting much of the attention at the Hawks rookie camp, but other aspiring rookies are trying to make their mark as well, including former UCLA Bruin Cedric Bozeman.

"I'm definitely learning a lot.", Bozeman said. "You have to learn on the fly, the coaches demand a lot out of us. There is also a lot of running - we have to be in shape. But I think I'm taking it all in so far."

"Everything is faster. College is fast, but the NBA is even quicker so you have to be able to pick things up that much faster to keep up."

When asked about his life since the NCAA title game Bozeman said, "Playing in the championship game (with UCLA) was an unbelievable feeling, but now it's a new start. Everyone at this level is starting from scratch, trying to make the league, trying to help this team win."

Bozeman played primarily small forward last year with the Bruins, and of course is an excellent ballhandler - he led the Pac-10 in assists (5.5) his junior season.

"I am versatile" Bozeman said. "Whatever they want me to do, I'll do it. It's not about scoring all the time, it's about being in the right place at the right time, and contributing in other ways as well. Hopefully I can do that for the Hawks."

The Hawks currently have 19 players at their rookie camp, of which, half will make the trip to Salt Lake City for the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league.

Bozeman hopes to be one of them.
